"i am ready for, i am ready for something to change." - alex dupree
in the month since my last post...
- we enjoyed playing host to a variety of family for about 2 weeks
- we went on a weekend excursion to mason
- we drank 10 year old wine for the feast of st. clare
- mel is not doing smart start in the fall but volunteering with 21st century
- i do not want to work at cm
- my unrest has been growing as we gear up for the school year
that doesn't really bring us up to date, but this quote from catholic activist ammon hennacy begins shane claiborne's book:
“Love without courage and wisdom is sentimentality, as with the ordinary church member. Courage without love and wisdom is foolhardiness, as with the ordinary soldier. Wisdom without love and courage is cowardice, as with the ordinary intellectual. But the one who has love, courage and wisdom moves the world.”
this is not the time for a review, but after fully enjoying the first 112 pages in a single sitting (not hard - big print), i'm at a crossroads that requires some reflection and certainly requires response. his book is inspiring.
sometimes the words of the saints pull the strings of our hearts in tune with God's desires.
i feel like that is happening now, though i'm not fully sure what it means.
please pray for me today, as i am ready for somethings (big things) to change.
